According to experts, the case boils down to whether a sitting president can spearhead fundamental constitutional changes using state resources, officers and state patronage. The High Court and Court of Appeal declared BBI unconstitutional, null and void mainly because they found that the president could not initiate a popular initiative under Article 257 of the Constitution. They rejected the notion that an incumbent president could spearhead the modifying of the very constitution that he swore to protect.   CBC the new Education System Kenya CBC  stands for  Competency Based Curriculum . This is the new education system in Kenya that is currently set to replace the  8-4-4 education system . The system was introduced in 2017. The CBC system was researched and developed by the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development.
